CFDA x Canopy Jeffersonian Dinner

Tuesday night, Canopy and the Council of Fashion Designers of America co-hosted an exclusive Jeffersonian Dinner to spark a bold vision for fashion: one that values forests, champions circularity and drives industry-wide transformation. 

Gathered around the table, Canopy, and leading designers explored how the fashion industry at large must shift away from a ‘take, make, waste’ model toward a circular approach—embedding sustainability into every fiber and safeguarding the world’s vital forests.

By integrating cutting-edge innovation into high fashion, we aim to shift the narrative, positioning sustainability as a fundamental, long-term pillar of the industry, not just suitable for one-off collections or a fleeting trend, but a key driver of industry transformation and profitability. 

Collaborative Innovation in Action
As a gesture of appreciation, guests received an exclusive, forest-inspired finch bird scarf—a product of an innovative supply chain collaboration. Its journey to fruition began with US-based textile-to-textile recycling innovator, Circ and Hot Button Green Shirt producer Acegreen providing fiber derived from 40% recycled textile waste from polycotton blended fabrics to Italian manufacturer Tessilgodi, who crafted it into a luxurious, silk-like material known as Circ Lyocell. Resonance, the first AI-powered operating system for on-demand, waste-free fashion production at scale, then transformed this material into the finished product scarf accessory. This unique, first-of-its-kind piece beautifully showcases what’s possible when Next Gen materials meet revolutionary manufacturing.
